Wolkite Restaurant

Location:

I headed down to the Wolkite restaurant to start off my ‘Food for a score’ project, a nicely sized restaurant serving Ethiopian cuisine on Hornsey Road in North London. When I arrived me and my friend were greeted by the owner who shared he had been running the restaurant for sixteen years, he told us that it was a busy spot before the pandemic but since then they have received more take-away and deliveries, but whilst eating in the restaurant I observed people arriving to dine on a Tuesday evening.

The Breakdown:

The restaurant was spacious and displayed lovely artwork making the experience very lovely. I’m not new to Ethiopian food and definitely need to return to Wolkite as I left very pleased and even had enough to take home!

My order was ‘AWAZE TIBS‘ (Cubes of lamb cooked with Berbere (Ethiopian spice mix), onions, tomatoes, garlic and green pepper.)

Price:

My main meal alone cost £13.75, drinks are available and my mango juice cost £3.50.
